Unwanted fat is a widespread problem, and we would all like a simple solution.
Vaser Lipolysis offers a less invasive alternative to full liposuction. It is carried out by Mr Harris Haseeb, Plastic Surgeon in our fully equipped Minor Operations Theatre.
Following many years of research and study, we have been using the Vaser technique for 3 years now for it carries lower risks than alternative procedures and less down-time than conventional fat removal methods.
Vaser works by using Ultrasound to liquefy the fat tissue, which is then suctioned away. The advantage is that we only affect fat tissue, meaning less tissue damage and the procedure can be carried out under a local anaesthetic. Normal activity can be resumed almost immediately, and in most cases there is no need to take more than a day off work (though this obviously depends on what you do).
Because we are not removing solid fat tissue, the risk of being left with an uneven or lumpy result is lower than with conventional liposuction, and because the fat is always suctioned out, the results are much more instant than with other, less invasive methods like Radio Frequency and external forms of laser lipolysis.
The idea of liquefying and then removing fat tissue is not new, it first appeared in the form of Laser Lipolysis; the brand name you will recognise as SmartLipo. With this method, the fat was usually left in place to be carried away and disposed of by the body's waste scavenger cells, and there were a handful of reported complications in America. We are happy to say that there have been no reported similar cases with Vaser.
