What does the course cover?

An interactive day of teaching and practical sessions. You are encouraged to bring your own materials, local rules or safety concerns for discussion and development during the day.

- Roles and responsibilities of the Laser Protection Supervisor
- The impact of the Care Standards Act on laser and pulsed light facilities
- Review of features of light from lasers & intense pulsed light sources
- Laser and pulsed light safety issues review
- Safety management, including development of Local Rules, policies & procedures
- Risk assessment in the laser and pulsed light Controlled Area
- Practical session on risk assessment in a clinic environment

This workshop assumes that you have attended a Core of Knowledge course (or similar) and that you are confident with laser and pulsed light technologies & applications and the requirements of a laser and pulsed light Controlled Area.
