Course Content
This is a British Medical Laser Association
approved course & is recognised by the Healthcare Commission.
The
course covers all of the topics required under the National Minimum
Standards and includes additional topics drawn from the Medical Devices
Agency Guidance document on ‘Safe Use of Lasers':
- Features of light from Lasers/IPL sources;
- Hazards from Device Malfunction;
- Equipment management;
- Effects of light on the Eye, Skin and Body tissues;
- Safety management, including Local Rules and controlled areas;
- Introduction to Risk Assessment and ways to minimise risks;
- Action to be taken in the event of an adverse incident;
- Also includes details of Care Standards and Healthcare Commission registration.
