Core of Knowledge

The essential foundation course for all laser and intense pulsed light practitioners. Ideal for those new to laser and pulsed light applications and those planning to set up clinics. Also ideal as a refresher course. An interactive day of teaching that covers all the topics required under the National Minimum Standards for laser/IPL training and more! Including; introduction to laser/IPL technologies, safety issues, effects of light on eye & skin, best practice for working in a laser/pulsed light facility, minimising risk to clients and staff. An HC recognised and British Medical Laser Association (BMLA) Approved Course.

Open to all those involved with laser/IPL systems including clinic managers, practitioners and clinic support staff. Evidence of Core of Knowledge training is pre-requisite for BTEC qualifications. BTEC Award Laser & Intense Pulsed Light Hair Removal & Photorejuvination

A competence based, nationally recognised qualification. Learn about the technology, theory and practice of hair removal through a combination of lecture, worksheet and practical sessions including treatment sessions. The post course work requires that delegates have access to clients or facilities to complete the case study and Log Book (support will be available). Delegates must evidence understanding of Core of Knowledge before being accepted onto this qualification.

Only open to those with medical/nursing/health care qualifications & those with NVQ Level 3 Beauty Therapy & electrolysis experience (or equivalent).

BTEC Award Laser, Light & Associated Aesthetic Therapies

ACCREDITATION & APPROVED FOR 120 CME POINTS by The Royal College Surgeons of England

A competence based, nationally recognised qualification. This course now has a new format and offers optional subject modules including theory of non-ablative and acne treatments. The course is split into technology and application modules allowing delegates to choose from Part 1 and Part 2 dates that best suit their needs.

Learn the technology and theory of pigmented lesion treatments, hair removal, vascular and non-ablative laser/IPL treatments through a combination of lecture and worksheet sessions.

 

1st - 5th December 2008

£1500.00 + VAT (£1762.50 total)  Course fee inc. BTEC Registration Fee, lunch & refreshments, comprehensive course notes & reference materials.

Post course work requires access to a laser/IPL facility for a client case study & Log Book completion. Delegates must evidence understanding of Core of Knowledge for admission to this qualification.

Laser/IPL Protection Supervisor (LPS) Skills Workshop

An interactive workshop that builds upon material covered in the Core of Knowledge. Designed specifically for those acting as Laser/IPL Protection Supervisors, the day will develop skills in policy & procedure writing, preparing checklists and undertaking risk assessments within the Laser/IPL Controlled Area. This workshop assumes that you have attended a Core of Knowledge course (or similar) and that you are familiar with laser/IPL technologies & applications and the requirements of a laser/IPL Controlled Area. Best Practice in the Use of Botulinum Toxin Type A in the Upper Face

ACCREDITATION & APPROVED FOR 12 CME POINTS by The Royal College Surgeons of England

A two day course offering in-depth training from leading experts in facial aesthetics. The course offers practical and competence training sessions including written assessments, worksheets and client sessions. The course provides the underpinning knowledge for developing skills in the assessment, treatment and retention of clients. Both days include assessments, worksheets or practical demonstrations to enhance the learning experience. The training requires completion of post-course work in a clinical setting and candidates will need access to treatments and/or clients in order to complete this course. This course will use VISTABEL® for injections but the course materials cover all aspects of botulinum toxin type A products.
