Perhaps you've had a couple of children and although the shape of your legs is still good, those telltale purple, blue and red thread veins will mean that they stay firmly hidden under trousers or ankle-length skirts, no matter how hot the weather.

Surveys have shown that amongst women in the 30s and 40s and upwards, more than 50% have thread veins that they consider to be unsightly. So what does the treatment entail?

Tiny injections of liquid into the vessels themselves will cause them to shut down over a period of days. The body recognises that these vessels are now redundant and simply breaks them down and reabsorbs them over a period of weeks. So it's a bit like recycling those old, unwanted veins.
