The inspection is a detailed assessment of the quality and safety of care, carried by the national regulator of both NHS and Private healthcare services.
The primary concern among CQC assessors at this time is in the treatment (and protection) of under 18s. Findings from assessments at other healthcare establishments, including Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, arising from the ‘baby P’ scandal have shown that even where child protection procedures are in place, the standard of protection can be poor. Consequently, CQC have been prioritising child protection in recent inspections.
We are very pleased to say that CQC have recognised the expertise and experience of the treatment team at Mapperley Park and have endorsed our continued treatments of under 18s on the following basis:
Consultation and referral 8-11 years
Laser/IPL treatment over 11 years Facial pigmented and vascular lesions, tattoo removal, acne treatments, recalcitrant warts and veruccas, hair removal in severe PCOS
Surgical procedures over 18 years
There are now very few registered facilities licenced to treat children and we believe that this endorsement further evidences the high standards in place at Mapperley Park.
