Welcome to our Autumn/Winter Laser Training Programme. The Mapperley Park Laser Training programme is now in its 10th year with the BTEC awards now in their 8th.

The Autumn 2011 BTEC programme is the most ambitious week that we have ever attempted as we continue to move our Qualifications out of the lecture room and into clinic and minor operations rooms.

The Laser and Light sector has been through some tough times in recent years. A continuing recession combines with Government deregulation to produce the "perfect storm" for professional practitioners. Low-cost providers pop up all around like unwelcome mushrooms in everything from hair and tattoo removal to medical injectables - supported by the likes of Groupon and predicated on a general dumbing-down in the media of the issues surrounding what are potentially harmful, medical interventions.

We have been delivering the BTEC professional awards since 1994, in which time they have evolved from a dry academic delivery to the vibrant, hands on courses that we deliver today. Rather than spending all of the time in the classroom, most of the time is now spent in clinic rooms assessing treatment theory against actual outcomes across a huge range of lasers and associated technologies.
