2012 Training developments at Mapperley Park - 27 August 2011
2012 developments
BTEC London delivery: recognising that it is difficult for busy London-based practitioners to take the time to leave their practice and spend an entire week with us in Nottingham, we have decided to bring the BTECs to London. We have been delivering Core of Knowledge training in the heart of London (Bloomsbury) for 4 years now and believe that it is time for the BTECs to take to the road.
This will be a significant logistical feat as we intend to continue to demonstrate treatment principles against latest technology in a clinical setting; however, we have determined that it can be done and with even greater support from our manufacturer colleagues, we intend to deliver in Spring 2012.
We are also developing a range of on-line resources allowing BTEC delegates - and other subscribers - to access a support forum and learning materials, such as lecture slides and course notes, remotely and in their own time.
We believe that this is the first step towards a true remote learning capacity with advanced students theoretically able to submit a BTEC portfolio on the basis of their own learning without having to attend course delivery elements (although they would miss out in doing so).
This development will also help support training delivery in other countries and we are now in discussions with parties in Malta, Qatar and India interested in supporting BTEC delivery in those and other countries. If you have a particular interest in this development, please let us know for we would be happy to discuss.
Hopefully, you can see that at Mapperley Park, we are not standing still as the world changes around us but are investing and developing to meet these changes. We would like to thanks all of our previous course delegates whose critical feedback has allowed us to identify what we could best do to improve our delivery and keep it relevant in a fast changing sector.
