Master-class: October 2011

October 2011 will see us adding a short series of one-day Nottingham master-classes in hair removal, tattoo removal and vascular treatments. We have been developing these practical, skill based treatment days over the last couple of years and, having successfully delivered a series of pilots, we now plan to extend and expand for regular delivery.

These are not manufacturer delivered events designed to tie you to that manufacturer's product range but independently delivered, hands-on training days using the range of equipment that we use on a day-to-day basis in our own clinic. Where we don't use a particular technology (for example, we don't use diode lasers or IPL for hair removal), we will invite manufacturers to demonstrate that technology against the syllabus.

Each training day has been carefully designed to provide theory elements, tying practical delivery to an easily digested ‘Core of Knowledge' delivered by Paul Stapleton. The practical workshops, delivered by our clinical director, Jo Martin will be delivered against the range of typical treatment technologies and techniques. You will see (and help to carry out) example treatments on model-tissue and live skin in the form of model- volunteers.

Finally, we will tie things together in summary and provide attendance certificates that will cover CQC and Local Authority requirements in respect of on-going and Core of Knowledge training.

We believe that this will be a useful addition to our training portfolio, bridging the theory-only Core of Knowledge to the BTEC qualifications.
