FACE is the annual must-go aesthetics conference held at the Royal College of Physicians and comprises 3 days of lectures (over 30 hours) and the biggest exhibitor representation in the calendar with over 100 manufacturer/distributors selling everything from lasers to lotions and potions. We were particularly interested in a set of new systems to include the Candela ePrime (for non-surgical facelift) and the Syneron CORE Co2 laser.
Jo had the ePrime treatment nearly 4 weeks ago and is already showing marked improvement in the jawline - we will be posting information and images as we progress here so watch this space.
The CORE Co2 system has been on our wish list for some time being genuinely novel and a huge advance on our old Pixel Erbium Yag laser.
We are also now trialling the Candela V-Beam pulsed dye laser which looks to be an advance on our Nlite technology so it may be that in a few months, Jo actually lets go of her beloved Nlite and replaces it with something more developed.
We are also interested in new developments in non-invasive fat reduction/body contouring and there are plenty of systems to evaluate here. The idea is to provide a range of options for body improvements to include our existing Vaser Liposuction system but to complement with new, non-invasive technologies, dietetics and exercise in our own mini-gym. While we are not looking to provide obesity or weight-loss services, we believe that we will be able to offer the latest in treatments and techniques to remove or reduce stubborn areas of fat and to improve body shape through a regime of treatment, diet and exercise.
Finally, we are very interested in hair-loss advances, having our own surgeon delivering single follicle hair transplantation and a range of prescription and over-the-counter medicines for hair loss. We are also researching new, low-level light devices and both Jo and Paul are 4 weeks into the evaluation of a new home-use laser cap. Paul can immediately report an increase in hair growth rates (the 8 week hair cut was needed at 4 weeks) and Jo, who has been using the laser comb for 6 months prior to beginning with the laser cap can also report improved hair growth and a reduction in hair loss. We will have dermascope pictures to display in a few weeks at which point, we hope to take the device to the market.
So, another year at FACE sees us very interested in some new technologies and looking to invest in some interesting new equipment.
