What hair removal systems are used at Mapperley Park?

Electrolysis (short-wave diothermy) was the first method for hair removal using heat-energy and we do still offer an electrolysis service although, in terms of efficacy and speed of treatment, electrolysis has long been overtaken by laser and light based treatments.

We have been using lasers for hair removal (depilation) in Nottingham since 1994. There are now a huge number of laser and IPL options to choose from  (and electrolysis techniques for white and grey hair).

There are many myths about laser  hair removal but there is one single truth - every practitioner thinks that they are using the best system!

The reality is that each technology has pros and cons; we have introduced the entire range of hair removal options. We can take advantage of the benefits of a particular system but are not constrained by its drawbacks.

Having access to all of the options, we have two excellent lasers, the Cynosure Alexandrite and the Nd:YAG laser. The Alexandrite is the laser of choice for light skin - especially on the face, whereas the Nd:YAG works best on darker skin types and the deepest of follicles.

Whichever system that we use, you can be sure that we are not using because it is all we have to offer but because it is what is best for you.

Fast and effective. Long hair free periods. Skin cooling - can be uncomfortable.

 

Nd:YAG

Long hair free periods. Treats all skin types, fantastic for darker skins. Suitable for very deep follicles. Can be uncomfortable but skin cooling always used.
