The Original
Environ's highly effective preventive and restorative treatments were developed by leading South African plastic surgeon, Dr Des Fernandez. Environ products are formulated to replenish vitamin A and anti-oxidant vitamins C, E and betacarotene. These are the elements which combat premature ageing and which are destroyed by everyday exposure to UV light.

The Environ Ionzyme machine combines a modulated galvanic current with low frequency sound, to boost the penetration of Environ anti-ageing and pigment reducing serums by up to 4000 per cent, allowing improvements that are vastly superior to conventional facials and other skin lightening products.
These treatments are supplemented by a range of homecare products, available in progressive concentrations, to enhance and maintain the results. The homecare range also includes some of the best body care products we have seen. There are no artificial colours or fragrances or preservatives in these products and they are not tested on animals.
The secret of using vitamins A and C successfully is in the delivery system. Although these vitamins are highly irritating to the skin in their natural state, they can be readily absorbed and utilised by the skin if they are formulated correctly. Recent research has provided these vital delivery systems and allowed us to utilise these precious vitamins to full advantage. It is most suited to photo-aged, pigmented, mature or scarred skins and clients will be pre-prepared with the Environ homecare system.
The treatment combines iontophoresis and sonophoresis through a probe placed on the skin. Iontophoresis works on molecules that can be ionised whereas sonophoresis causes cavitation or "bubbles" in the lipid bilayers of the skin allowing penetration of large molecules.
Prior to treatment the skin is cleansed to remove surface oils which could hinder penetration. The skin is toned using a mild glycolic preparation so that it is in optimal condition. The treatment itself is not uncomfortable.
Since ageing and deterioration of the skin is now known to begin at around the age of 25, there is a real argument for the early use of effective treatment creams, especially UV protection.
Since it is UVA which is now recognised as being the "ageing ray" it is vital to block this type of light in order to delay the rate of ageing. In fact it is never too early to start preventative measures as new research suggests that one incidence of sunburn before the age of 18 doubles the risk of skin cancer later in life. Correct use of UV blockers, however, before the age of 18 can reduce the risk of skin cancer by up to 80%.
