The National Minimum Standards are a set of Standards designed to ensure patients are protected and receive quality-assured treatment. They cover a broad range of areas including Quality of Treatment & Care, Complaints, Health & Safety, Information Management, and Personnel. There are two types of Standards, Core Standards and Service Specific Standards.
There are 32 Core Standards (C-Standards) . For lasers & IPL operators, there are an additional 3 service-specific Standards (P-Standards). If you are offering Private Doctor services, you will also need to evidence the service-specific Standards relating to private doctors (PD-Standards).
Each C-Standard, P-Standard & PD-Standard is preceded by a statement o f the intended outcome for your client, and there are over 220 outcomes you'll need to evidence. We have a comprehensive audit document that links the 32 C-Standards and outcomes with the evidence documentation associated with them.
You can get a copy of the National Minimum Standards by contacting the Department of Health on 0207 210 4850, order a copy online from the stationery office, or alternatively, downloaded from the department of health website. |
