There’s always some celebrity experiencing some kind of distressing aesthteic crisis, and of course this week is no different. Katie Price, also know as Jordan, is reported to be suffering hair loss as a result of years of bleaching and hair extensions.

This is not an unusual problem, we women have spent years modifying our hair in some way. Whether you bleach or dye your hair, have it permed, or use hair extensions, these treatments cause damage and stress to the hair and, if you’re not careful, can result in hair loss.

It’s very important to seek medical advice from the appropriate specialist if you are affected as, in some cases, there are things which can be done to help.

We would suggest that Ms. Price goes to see a hair transplant specialist such as our lovely surgeon, Mr. Haseeb, or a Dermatologist with an interest in Trichology, such as Dr. Rabi Nambi. The appropriate specialist will be able to advise her on what can be done about her hair loss, before it gets too bad.

But ultimately, unless she is willing to knock the hair extensions on the head (if you’ll excuse the pun), then her natural hair is unlikely to recover, and it’s condition will deteriorate.
