Our trainers include professors, surgeons, doctors, nurse prescribers, aesthetic practitioners and health and safety experts giving you the opportunity work with and learn from each individual. All of our trainers have either worked as successful practitioners for a number of years or are industry experts and have a real passion for teaching and a desire to share their knowledge and experience.
National TrainerSimone attended Mapperley Park Academy for her own BTEC Qualification and always had the ambition to work as a Tutor for an Official External Body. She is delighted to be a member of the Mapperley Park Team and looks forward to training and welcoming all Delegates in the Course.
Simone qualified as a Dental Hygienist/Therapist in 2011 from Dundee University. After working for the NHS with Children and Special Needs patients, Simone quickly began to train in a wide range of Non-Surgical Aesthetic devices. Simone realised her true passion was with Aesthetic Treatments and then moved from Glasgow to London and worked as an Internal Company Trainer and Senior Practitioner, gaining a wide range of experience with many machines and patients in the Private Aesthetic Field. She has had experience investigating and reporting clinical incidents, auditing paperwork and clinic settings, and managing a team of 20 Laser Practitioners whilst travelling the U.K.
Simone’s Aesthetic Skills include: Using a large range of Lasers and IPLs for a range of treatments, using Radiofrequency, Infrared and Ultrasound Devices for Skin Tightening, Chemical Peels and she is a Qualified Trainer with some skincare lines and machines. Simone is also competent in delivering Dental Restorative Procedures, Periodontal Procedures, Paediatric Dentistry and Tooth Whitening.
Stan Batchelor, FSRP, FIPEM, MInstP, CRadP, CPhys, CSci
Independent Laser and Radiation Protection AdvisorStan’s career in medical physics spans 39 years, 29 of which were spent working at Guy’s and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust.
Stan retired from the NHS in January 2016 and now works as an independent laser/radiation protection advisor. He was advisor to the Care Quality Commission between 2001 and 2008 and has been called as an expert witness in four court cases. He’s also shared his laser and radiation expertise on BBC radio, SKY TV and in various national papers on a variety of issues.
Currently, Stan is the Science Media Centre liaison contact for the Society for Radiation Protection, is an honorary senior lecturer at Kings College London and is on the exam board for MSc Nuclear Medicine. He also advises and trains English councils, the Jersey Health Board and the Healthcare Inspectorate on compliance standards for use of cosmetic lasers and IPL’s, and served on the Health Education England ‘Expert Reference Group’ for cosmetic non-surgical interventions in 2014-15.
Dr Mark NichollsMark qualified in Dentistry from the University of Birmingham in 1984 and started his career in facial aesthetics in 2001. Since then he has continued his learning by undertaking training with some of the world’s leading facial aesthetic experts.
Having worked in his own clinics since 2001 and, for the last 9 years for sk:n, Mark has built up an extensive knowledge of the use of both dermal fillers and botulinum toxin for aesthetic purposes. Mark has also trained doctors, dentists and nurses for the last 5 years in aesthetic treatments and has experience in all the major brands of botulinum toxin and dermal fillers including Juvederm, Restylane , Belotero, Teoysal and Emerval.

Independent Nurse Prescriber and National TrainerRuth qualified as a nurse at the University of Wolverhampton in 2005 and then trained with Dr Sean Lanigan as a laser nurse. She qualified as an independent nurse prescriber in 2014.
Ruth’s aesthetics skills include filler treatment, Botox, chemical peels, Fraxel, hair removal, skin resurfacing, tattoo removal, pigmentation treatment and thread veins, plus rejuvenation treatments including Juvéderm Ultra, Vycross, Hydrafill and Teosyal. She has attended Master Classes with industry leaders and continues to sustain considerable clinic hours alongside her role as trainer.
Ruth has provided training to individuals from a variety of professional backgrounds, including beauty therapists, nurses, doctors and dentists. She also carries out treatment research and testing, liaising with suppliers to ensure Mapperley Park remains at the forefront of aesthetic technology.
Independent Nurse Prescriber and National TrainerTracy has been a qualified nurse for more than 20 years and is an independent nurse prescriber. She began her aesthetic career 14 years ago and has undergone comprehensive and advanced training in fillers and Botox, including Master Classes with world famous aestheticians.
Tracy has experience in Hydrafill, Teosyal, Juvederm Ultra, Juvederm Vycross and Restylane treatments and has been a national injectable trainer for the past five years. She trains nurse prescribers, doctors, dentists and consultants in the art of dermal fillers and Botox as well as beginner, intermediate and advanced injectable classes.
Tracy has a real interest in industry training and is proactive in trying to raise the overall medical standards of aesthetic procedures. As part of this endeavour her work has been published in the Journal of Aesthetics.

Head of Learning and DevelopmentGlenda’s career in training has spanned both the public and private sectors, including senior roles in health and beauty, education and the fashion industry. She moved into her role as head of learning and development for Mapperley Park Academy as she is passionate about the industry and believes that training is hugely important for its sustained growth.
Over the years Glenda has helped develop both accredited qualifications and non-accredited commercial courses for the various organisations she has worked for and has been nominated for a number of awards, including a worldwide international award for commercial course development.
Glenda is establishing Mapperley Park Academy as a centre of quality lifelong learning for the aesthetics sector, offering both accredited and non-accredited courses.
